Making Changes

Steps to making changes:

1. Recognize a need for change or room for improvement

2. Educate yourself

– reading, taking a class, watching documentaries, talking to professionals or    attending lectures

3. Make the choice to change previous behavior

4. Create goals

– should be realistic, measurable, challenging

5. Hold yourself accountable for reaching your goals

– write them down and tell a friend

– give yourself incentive for each step along the way

– find a friend who is interested in achieving the same goal, do it together

– Write reminders on sticky notes and post them in your room & office

Remember: don’t be afraid to ask for help! We can all use a little support when challenging ourselves
